1. President's report

  • Saturday September 4th (Tentative)
  • ACTION: Tom to make a flyer for circulation
  • ACTION: Katie to confirm date and venue
  • ACTION: Katie to check with Ryde and Nth Ryde Rotary for medallions and other memorabilia.
  • ACTION: Jack to see if we can get a prize from JB HI FI for the raffle.

• New website!!!
  • Everyone needs to sign up to have full access to the discussion board, upload photos, make comments and RSVP to events/meetings etc.

  • Ice skating, going to the city, Kareoke, picnic, bowling, laser tag

5. Events report

• Kick Off Social Soccer Tournament recap
  • Last Sunday Northern Beaches Rotaract organised a soccer tournament for Rotary and Rotaract Clubs
  • St Ives and RMQ joined forces (Dani, Katie, David, Jack) of which they came second to the crazy good Germans

• Australia's Biggest Morning Tea
  • Wednesday 26th May we will bake after 6pm at Katie's house contact Katie if you want to help at president@rotaractmq.org (100-200cakes)
  • Everyone to try and get people to donate online to enter the raffle.
  • ACTION: Jack to ask Epping Rotary if they would like to draw the raffle at their meeting
  • ACTION: Sujen (on promotions) to check with Crunch Cafe the amount per unit for muffins.

• District Changeover (3rd July)
  • Just formal change from one District Director to the next.

• Rotaract's Got Talent (22nd May)
  • $10 per head and want each club to participate with individual or group
  • Chatswood RSL
  • Jack has a script but is too long for 3-5mins. Other ideas?
  • At the bottom of the facebook events page there is a form to send to Dani along with music, set up information and equipment needs (president@stivesrotaract.org)

• Annual Trivia Night
  • Venue confirmed: Eastwood Public School
  • 6.30pm for 7pm start
  • $10 for students (optional $5 for cake and tea/coffee), $20 adults (inc. cake and tea/coffee)
  • Gold coin donation for a sausage sizzle if BBQ is available
  • Prize for the member who brings the most people (ideas for prize)
  • Extra games, double points rounds etc.
  • Prizes: wine (1st place), movie ticket (runners up), wooden spoon as memorabilia (last place).

• Latin Festival
  • In the Atrium in the second week of Semester 2 (August).

6. Projects report

• Book Collection
  • No updates, Fran will hopefully get on top of it soon when things settle down.

• Tutoring at Marsden High School
  • The organiser can't come to any of our meetings.
  • Already has an intensive English Centre (mainly for refugees) and is a partner school with Macquarie Univerisity
  • Currently their program runs on Tuesday afternoons and need people to commit to semester weeks to help with homework and be a mentor for the kids
  • Need to find some way to get us all there
  • ACTION: Mark to check that it will be a joint program if we can commit a fair number of people to participate.
