
The Rotaract Club of Macquarie University is involved with many projects, fundraisers and events throughout the year. Some of these we regularly are involved in each year. Australia's Biggest Morning Tea
When: May
The Biggest Morning Tea is held each year to raise funds for the Cancer Council NSW. We hold a bake sale each year to raise money which help in funding cancer research, support for cancer survivors and their families as well as public education and prevention of cancer.
Homework Help Programme
When: Ongoing
We have just launched a homework help programme for primary school children at Eastwood Library. We are also looking into expanding the homework help service to other Ryde Council Libraries or surrounding schools. O-week and Diversity week @ Macquarie University
When: Beginning of semester 1 and 2
O-week and Diversity week are out major times for getting noticed on campus and important recuitment times. Volunteers are always needed to help out at the stall to promote the club.
Red Cross Club Red
When: Ongoing
Giving blood can save up to three people. Also, one in three people will need a blood transfusioin or blood products. Our club has signed up for Club Red so we can tally the amount of blood we have donated as a group effort! Relay for Life
When: September
Each year Rotaract MQ sends a team to camp out at Macquaire University and take turns in walking around the oval thoughout the night to raise funds for the Cancer Council NSW. Cancer Council NSW is involved in cancer research, support for cancer survivors and their families as well as public education and prevention of cancer.
Rotaract MQ's Annual Trivia Night
When: Semester 2
Each year we hold a trivia night to raise money for international projects we are involved in. Money raised at these trivia nights have gone into buying a ShelterBox (box of cooking equipment, tent, first aid kit etc. sent to sites of disasters to help families survive), school equipment for children in Vanautu and equipment for renovating an orphanage in Indonesia.
