Donations booked in!
For the past year, member of our club have been collecting old books from libraries, schools and individuals. These books covered fiction, plays, non-fiction, children books and textbooks. There were significant numbers of textbooks and encyclopaedias.
Hundreds of books were collected, and a special thankyou goes to Fran, who did a lot of collecting, and also let us use her garage for storage. Another special mention goes to Katie, who used her connections as a teacher to get a hold of lots of old textbooks.
After spending a long time in Fran's garage, it is time for these books to be put to good use. Half of them have been given to Hope, an Epping based charity and the other half have been given to a branch of Rotary's 'Donations in Kind'. The hope is that these books will be used in countries of communities that cannot afford them.
