Splash for Cash 2010

Date:
Sat, 10/04/2010 - 08:00 - 15:00

Splash for Cash is an annual fundraising event for the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC). The RIDBC is Australia's oldest charity for those affected by blindness and deafness. This year marked its 150th anniversary. At least one Australian child is identified with a hearing impairment each day and the RIDBC provides education and support to families with a blind or deaf child.

Splash for Cash began 27 years ago as a joint event between Rotaract and the RIDBC. Swimmers sign up to swim and get sponsored per lap or a one off donation. Since its beginnings it has now become so big that there have been smaller "Splash Out" sessions across the nation. Also, this event has the support of a variety of big names in swimming including Susie Maroney and Guy Leech.

This year our club had five participants. Who swam a total of 360 laps!

■Jacqui - 60
■Mark - 30
■Anthony - 120
■Daniel - 110
■Katie 40

Congratulations for your fantastic efforts!

So far we have raised $155 but there is still time to sponsor our swimmers. It can be done online here.
