Social Soccer a Striking Success
On Sunday the 2nd of May the Rotaract Kick Off Soccer Tournament was held at the Calabria Club in Manly Vale. Organised by Northern Beaches Rotaract, it was an event where a number of different clubs were able to participate and socialise with each other. Macquarie University were keen to play, but three people turned up for a 5-a-side match. This was not a problem, however, as Katie, David and Jack merged with St Ives Rotaract to form a team. There were 4 teams in total, and we got to play each of them at least once.
After 4 exhausting, yet highly enjoyable 15-minute games, we had reached the final. We were up against a team of German exchange students who had amazing footwork skills, and although we were full of determination, the German team emerged victorious. The matches were played in good spirit, litres of water were consumed, and everyone who participated had a great time.
